As part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), you’ll use your experience of human factors in major hazards industries to protect lives and livelihoods across Britain. Carrying out forensic analysis of accidents and fatalities from a mechanical engineering perspective, you will also help employers innovate, be productive and grow by inspecting a variety of workplaces, both to ensure risks are managed safely, and to drive improvements. Gathering evidence, research and intelligence, you’ll supply expert opinion within HSE and occasionally act as an expert witness during legal proceedings. You’ll have a degree in ergonomics, human factors or occupational psychology and likely have a background in engineering. It’s challenging work, with the scope to transform the working practices of a range of British employment sectors for the better. So if you’re ready to step up to the challenge, we’ve got a place for you at HSE.
