Affinity Trust currently has an opportunity to become part of a very exciting and ground breaking new service. We are seeking a candidate with a Positive Behaviour Support qualification and experience of undertaking a range of clinical assessments. You will be responsible for delivering PBS support and interventions to disabled children, young people and their families.
We are a national charity focused on providing support to people with learning disabilities. Working in partnership with Bradford Metropolitan District Council children’s services we will be delivering a specialist Positive Behaviour Support service to disabled children, young people and their families. Our goal is to prevent disabled children and young people with complex and challenging behaviour from going into residential care and enabling them to stay at home and in local schools.
- Leading a small team of dedicated Specialist Key Workers to enable disabled children and young people with challenging behaviours who are at risk of entering residential care to remain within the family home.
- Direct intensive support to individual young people to aid a reduction in challenging behaviours, increase life skills and independence, increase community engagement, support and guidance for parent/ carers to increase skills, increase wellbeing and enable Children and Young People to stay at home.
- Support and guidance to other professionals- particularly working closely with schools and local authorities to help maintain educational placements.
As Lead Practitioner (Clinical PBS) you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting your team to deliver a quality service and achieve positive outcomes. We are looking for someone focused and organised who has a vision for the delivery of highly effective services. You will need to have staff and resource management skills and be able to engage and work in partnership with young people, families and a full range of other professionals. The successful candidate will be able to design PBS intervention plans for individual children and young people, supervise the Specialist Key Workers in their implementation of the plans and monitor their effectiveness.
You will work positively and inclusively with others, building constructive relationships with the local authority, families, staff and the wider community and seek opportunities to promote personalised support to the children and young people supported.

To be successful at shortlisting you will have a Psychology degree or equivalent and be accredited as a Positive Behaviour Support practitioner.
