A Practitioner in Training post (C2) has become available within the Army 2* Headquarters for Soldier and Officer selection and initial training. The role will be at the centre of efforts to better understand the recruitment and basic training experience, whilst also supporting ongoing efficiency of the selection processes. The variety of work includes management of the contractor delivered surveys and subsequent data analysis; assessment of various selection approaches with the opportunity to innovate; behavioural science support to training units including Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and review of retention in both the application and training pipeline. This job will suit an individual who enjoys applied qualitative and quantitative research, collation and explanation of external research and/or tested theory, all combined with the application of professional judgment and translation to the organisational context.

All candidates must have and provide evidence of a British Psychological Society (BPS) approved Honours degree in psychology and have been awarded Graduate Basis for Chartership. The Practitioner in Training role (C2) requires a MSc in Occupational Psychology and at least two years relevant experience. The MOD will pay for the Qualification in Occupational Psychology Stage 2 for the right candidate.
