Please indicate your preferred working pattern on the application form.  The posts will be appointed on the University Clinical Lecturer pay scale.

The post holders will be based within the UEA Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies (CPPT), and would be expected to contribute to the broad range of activity of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD), including contribution to teaching, research supervision, assessment, providing support for trainees’ personal and professional development and examining.

Particular areas of responsibility where the post holders may be expected to contribute include the following aspects of programme delivery:

  • Supporting development of systemic teaching and training
  • Supporting delivery of research elements of the programme
  • Supporting delivery of academic elements of the programme
  • Supporting teaching in Learning Disabilities and/or neurodevelopmental disorder

The ‘desirable criteria’ in the Person Specification for the post reflect the expertise that may be most relevant for candidates in these particular roles, however this is not an exhaustive list and applications from candidates with broad expertise of relevance to Clinical Psychology training are welcomed.

All Clinical Lecturers on the UEA ClinPsyD take specific roles on the programme balancing the interests and expertise of the post holder as well as the wider departmental need.  The focus and balance of these activities and roles will be discussed with the post holder as part of their job plan, which is reviewed periodically, and accounts for their experience, interests, and departmental need.

You will join a supportive and enthusiastic group of research-oriented academics and clinicians in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies (CPPT) within Norwich Medical School which is located within the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH). The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD) is a well-established programme which has, over recent years, grown in size to include over 80 trainees across three years of training. We anticipate our largest ever cohort, of 49 trainees, from October 2021. The ClinPsyD forms one part of overall departmental activity, which includes extensive provision for IAPT including High-Intensity Training, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner training, and Long-Term Conditions, and, since January 2020, the Educational Mental Healthcare Practitioner programme (EMHP). We also plan to launch the new Clinical Associate Psychologist Programme in the Autumn of 2021.  The department also has strong research and academic delivery with a number of active clinical researchers with a range of clinical research interests. Research is conducted alongside multidisciplinary colleagues within the University and partners in the NHS.

The posts are available immediately on a part or full-time indefinite basis and will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We strongly encourage applicants from Black, Asian or other minority ethnic backgrounds and welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010.  Appointment will be made on merit.
