Certitude has a rewarding opportunity for a Positive Support Manager to undertake a dual role with shared responsibilities across Positive Behaviour Support and Total Communication. As a member of the Intensive Support Team, you will be working alongside other practice development colleagues to provide holistic, person centred support to individuals and their families.

Job description

The Positive Support Manager will work in conjunction with an existing Positive Behaviour Support expert to lead on the design and delivery of support models and plans for people with learning disabilities who have complex and challenging needs. The Positive Support Manager will also work alongside existing experts in communication to develop our approach to Total Communication for people we support.

We are looking for an ideal candidate who has experience of leading work around supporting individuals with complex and challenging support needs, some of whom who are making their transition from secure environments to community living. An expert knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and Total Communication is a must.  

This role will suit candidates who have an expert understanding and knowledge of:

  • Positive Behaviour Support
  • Learning Disability, Autism and complex needs
  • Designing & implementing behaviour support and crisis intervention plans within a support provider setting, alongside a multidisciplinary approach
  • Assessment models and approaches
  • Total Communication
  • An understanding of the Transforming Care agenda
