This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) team in the Department of Psychiatry led by Professor Daniel Freeman. You will be contributing to a programme of research, developing and testing cognitive treatment delivered using Virtual Reality (VR). You will help run a randomised controlled trial testing a new automated virtual reality treatment for patients with psychosis and contribute to a wider programme of research on the implementation of VR in the NHS. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital Oxford
The post is for a fixed term (3 years)
The post would suit either a post-doctoral psychologist with experience of clinical research or a clinical psychologist*. We will accept applications from clinical psychologists completing training this year.
You will need to have excellent engagement skills with patients, strong project management skills, the ability to supervise research assistants, a keenness to put the user experience at the heart of treatment design, and passion for the development of evidence-based digital technology interventions. Although based at Oxford you are likely to travel throughout Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and the neighbouring participating NHS Trusts. This would be facilitated by having a valid driving licence, and access to own or other independent means of transport
* Clinical psychologists will also work in Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and neighbouring trusts that partner with the research group, and there will be additional clinical intervention opportunities.
