Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we’re a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do.

We wish to appoint a Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to provide psychological assessments and interventions for adults with severe and/or complex mental health problems. We also welcome applications from other psychological therapists able to demonstrate equivalent levels of skill and experience.

You should be able to demonstrate your experience, skills and qualifications in evidence-based approaches in specialist adult mental health settings. This may include for example, CBT or third wave approaches / Schema Therapy / EMDR / DBT / MBT / CAT / psychodynamic approaches.

As a member of a specialist Psychological Therapies team, you’ll work closely with colleagues in our CMHT and in-patient teams. You will also liaise with and support psychological therapists working at earlier steps in the Buckinghamshire Psychological Therapies Pathway.

You will provide psychological assessments and interventions, as well as providing supervision and support to other psychological therapists and consultation and guidance to our colleagues in the CMHT. You’ll have excellent communication skills and will participate in multidisciplinary risk assessment, formulation and care planning.

You will join our established, friendly and supportive team of psychologists and psychotherapists which is part of the wider Buckinghamshire Psychological Therapies Pathway, which provides a wide range of evidence-based and innovative psychological therapies.

You will receive expert clinical supervision and will have access to a wide range of CPD activities. There are excellent opportunities for service development, service evaluation/research and teaching/training.

It would be an advantage if you have skills in delivering therapy to this client group, evidence of significant knowledge in your specialist therapy area, sound clinical risk assessment and management skills, experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Please note, we will close this advert early if sufficient applications are received.
