You can achieve more at St Andrew’s Healthcare

A top 20 UK charity, St Andrew’s is a unique provider of specialist care in mental health and learning disability. We aspire to deliver truly world class, holistic services within our outstanding, modern facilities. Our independence means we can always put patients’ interests at the heart of decision making, while re-investing surpluses in frontline services.  We are currently transforming the Charity and have introduced Integrated Practice Units (IPUs) as the vehicle to deliver ‘Value Based Healthcare’.  This will ensure our patients consistently get the best possible outcomes and local teams gain more control and responsibility.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Principal Clinical or Principal Forensic Psychologist with an interest in working with adults with mental health and personality disorders to join our Low Secure ward in the Women’s Service at our Essex Integrated Practice Unit.

You will be an HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist (eligible for BPS Chartership) looking for an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the practice of Clinical or Forensic Psychology. You will preferably be trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, as you will be joining the existing DBT Consult.

Our goal is to deliver effective and evidenced based interventions that improve mental health and reduce risk. You will have the opportunity to apply specialist psychological skills in the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults with complex mental health disorders in combination with the application of forensic models to treat and manage risk.

As a ward Psychologist you will be part of the MDT and apply skills and expertise in clinical and risk assessments, collaboratively develop formulations; plan, sequence and deliver group or individual psychological interventions to enable our service users to improve their mental health, manage their risks and progress to greater independence. You will have the provision of an Assistant Psychologist to support you in your role. You will be part of a team of over twenty Psychologists based in Essex, Northampton, Mansfield and Birmingham delivering psychological interventions for a diverse patient group at St. Andrew’s Healthcare.  As a clinician you will be supported to develop specialist skills in clinical areas of your interest and contribute to the development and training within the Psychology team and greater service. St Andrew’s Healthcare has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development.

Development

With our recent move to patient centred Integrated Practice Units we have more Clinical Leads coming from the psychology profession than any other profession in the organisation showing how important and influential it is to the charity.  We now need new people to join who will be the Clinical Leads of the future.

We offer an excellent benefits package including:

  • Excellent professional and career development and training opportunities
