Are you looking for an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical, supervision and leadership skills? We are looking for an experienced clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist or CBT therapist to join our friendly and innovative team at Buckinghamshire Healthy Minds as a Senior Locality Lead.
Buckinghamshire Healthy Minds is a nationally recognised, high-performing NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service, supporting around 10,000 adults every year to manage anxiety and depression. Our service has over 150 staff including PWPs, clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT therapists, referral coordinators, employment advisors, managers and administrators.
Buckinghamshire is well located with excellent transport links to London, Oxford and the Midlands and within the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our main bases are in High Wycombe in the south and Aylesbury in the north of the county. We offer flexible working arrangements. Currently many clinics are provided remotely (using digital solutions) due to COVID19. Some in person clinics are being run from our community sites across Buckinghamshire.
Staff wellbeing is a top priority for us. We have a very active, award winning, wellbeing team within the service and work hard to ensure that a supportive, collaborative and productive culture is in place.
As a Senior Locality Lead you will provide direct highly specialist psychological therapies service to a designated locality team and contribute to the development and delivery of Step 3 interventions across the service. You will also be actively involved in ensuring waits for treatment are kept to a minimum and contribute to the ongoing identification and implementation of continuing professional development across the Step 3 team.
You will also have line management responsibilities and work as part of the service leadership team. You will be guided by the Clinical Lead, the Deputy Clinical Lead and Service Manager to ensure the services which are delivered are of a high quality and meet national guidance as well as meeting local and nationally agreed plans.
The post will be attractive to doctoral level (or equivalent) clinical psychologists or counselling psychologists. You should be able to demonstrate your use of evidence-based practice, preferably in a primary care setting. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience of working with clinicians providing Step 3 treatments. You should be BABCP accredited or willing to work towards obtaining this during your first year in post.
You will be given regular expert clinical supervision, managerial supervision and access to an extensive CPD training programme. You will be based at the Healthy Minds office in Aylesbury (Peach Tree House) and will provide services either online, in GP practices or community venues across Buckinghamshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Oxford Health, a large and innovative NHS Foundation trust, which has a strong track record for supporting the development of psychological therapy services. The Trust has two IAPT services, a range of specialist psychological therapy services and employs over 400 psychological therapists. Healthy Minds and the Trust provide regular high quality CPD and training. The Trust hosts the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research. Healthy Minds is actively involved in research, participating in a number of local and national studies. The service benefits from being a member of the Oxford Academic Health Sciences Network – Anxiety and Depression Network led by Professor David Clark.
