Additional Information: This role is for Student Development Lead.

The Psychology Department at Nottingham Trent University is seeking to appoint a lead for student development at principal lecturer level. The successful candidate will work with and supervise our internationalisation team and our employability team to enhance the experience of students at NTU. Currently the Department has a programme of events for students to prepare them for work which include careers events as well as academic modules focused on career development. We have sandwich courses based around work experience and we have an international programme for students to study abroad as part of their degree. We are looking to further develop this work and also to build links with our alumni.

You will be joining a very large, lively, diverse, collegiate and ambitious group with an excellent reputation for its theoretically informed impactful applied research and its teaching provision at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Ongoing strategic investment in terms of staffing, staff development, research support, labs and funded PhD students continues to allow us to develop further and to meet the ambitions of the University’s strategic plan across the full range of our activities. In October 2016, we opened a new research centre following substantial investment from the University.

You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to bring the best out of staff and to lead on complex projects. You should have a good understanding of the current educational climate and the vision to deliver high quality programmes of study. Ideally, you will have a track record in leadership of projects and people.
