Innovative therapeutic interventions, joined up care pathways and a strong multidisciplinary approach have all made Priory Group into the UK’s leading provider of behavioural care. Nowhere are these strengths more evident than at Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View Hospitals in Milton Keynes – and we are now looking for a Principal Psychologist to drive the success of a specialist DBT service for females.
Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View Hospitals form a 94-bedded medium and low secure unit that provides care and treatment in a secure setting for individuals with serious mental health problems who may have committed an offence as part of their mental illness. While you will have opportunities to work on forensic wards, however, you will focus mainly on delivering the Hope House DBT service. This 11-bedded non-forensic female unit is recognised for the effectiveness of its DBT interventions, and you will be responsible for leading the psychological therapies within the unit.
The result is a challenge of significant variety and innovation. Working closely with the Lead Psychologist, you will oversee the therapy model and the way it is delivered by a dedicated team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and occupational therapists. This will include using the DBT framework to work directly with clients, of course. But you will also provide supervision and leadership to the DBT team and support the wider psychology service in developing new initiatives and programmes.
As a qualified Psychologist, you will have experience working with personality disordered clients within a DBT framework – and you will ideally be an intensively trained British Isle DBT therapist with an understanding of working with trauma. In addition to being part of a supportive team of seven Psychologists and three Assistant Psychologists at Chadwick Lodge, you will benefit from our strong commitment to CPD, specialist supervision and training. We also actively encourage any interest you have in research and outcome studies.
We would encourage you to visit the service to explore this opportunity for yourself. Alternatively, if you would like to discuss the post informally, feel free to contact Karen Howell, Lead Psychologist at email@example.com or Dr Adrian Lord, Consultant Psychiatrist at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also telephone Karen on Monday to Wednesday or Adrian on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays on 01908 593000.
