The Women’s Service at St Andrew's Healthcare
St Andrew’s is a charity commissioned by the NHS to provide specialist mental healthcare for people with some of the most complex and challenging mental health needs in the UK. As one of six specialist pathways within the charity, the Women’s Service recently received a CQC rating of Good demonstrating an effective, caring, responsive and well-led organisation (June, 2017).
Due to service expansion, reorganisation and maternity leave, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Principal Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to work within our low-secure and locked rehabilitation wards within the Women's Service.
This role will suit a person-centred and ambitious individual with skills in engaging people in their recovery; delivering evidence-based group and individual psychological therapies; working collaboratively with core MDT members including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.
You will have experience in supervision, leadership and training and practical knowledge of structured professional judgement risk assessments, with the ability to communicate complex and at times sensitive information in an accessible and respectful way.
There will be opportunities to develop and provide innovative and person-centred interventions that maximise the effectiveness for the individual/s you are working with. There will be opportunities for service development including co-production with service users and an interest and enthusiasm in these areas is desired.
The successful applicant will join an experienced psychology team including Consultant Clinical Psychologists, Principal Clinical Psychologists, Forensic Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Assistant Psychologists.
The role is offered with some flexibility and can be adapted to suit an outstanding candidate. It is primarily offered on a part-time basis of 0.8WTE for an initial fixed term of 10-months.
We offer an excellent benefits package including pension, 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, life cover, car lease scheme, cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers and opportunities for research, teaching and continuing professional development.
For an informal discussion about this opportunity, please contact Dr Michelle Huggins, Principal Clinical Psychologist (Tel: 01604 616523 email: MHuggins@standrew.co.uk) or Hugo Nel, Consultant Psychologist (Tel: 01604 616465 email: HNel@standrew.co.uk).
