This post, based at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF), will design and set up a new postgraduate Diploma Course for Mental Health Practitioners in Education which is due to start in January 2019. This is a unique opportunity to take a central role in the implementation of a major national programme of workforce development in child mental health set out in the recent government Green Paper. The postholder would also join the highly innovative schools programme team at the AFNCCF.
The Centre has an extensive programme of work with schools across the country around addressing the mental health needs of pupils and staff. Alongside the post graduate academic programme, there is also a service which provides direct work with pupils and their families to approximately 20 schools and the Centre has set up the highly regarded Family School which will be located in the new Centre Campus, which we are moving to in 2019.
We are seeking a highly innovative and experienced academic/clinician who has knowledge of both therapeutic work with children and young people in school settings and knowledge and experience of post graduate education. The initial task will be to set up a new Diploma Course to start in January 2019 and recruit the staff for this course.

The postholder will be supported by a highly experienced team of clinicians and academics who have been involved in delivering the CYP-IAPT national programme for the last seven years.
The post-holder will initially be based at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, 12 Maresfield Gardens, London NW3 5SU and 1st Floor, Jordan House, 47 Brunswick Place, London N1 6EB. In 2019, the Centre will be moving to a new purpose built Campus at 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.
