Job Title: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Team Lead, Hidden Wounds

Reports to: Psychological Wellbeing Team Manager

Based at:  Phoenix House Recovery Centre, Catterick, DL9 3AW

Job Purpose

Provide leadership associated with the ‘Step 2’ low intensity service within ‘Hidden Wounds’.  Managing a team of three or more Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, with additional responsibilities including case management supervision, clinical skills supervision alongside delivery of low intensity CBT.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support to a team of three or more Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.
  • Provide clinical governance of the ‘Step’ 2 low intensity service to ensure safe, effective and efficient delivery of low intensity CBT
  • Monitor and manage collection and reporting of service outcome data, alongside supporting a reduced caseload.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed a BPS accredited IAPT training programme at PG Cert or Degree Level 6

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed a PWP training programme/undertaken CPD in competencies associated with a Band 6 PWP post (e.g. leadership, supervision)

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Clinical monitoring, assessment, and risk management skills
  • Experience of managing a team of three or more
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (clarity and confidence in face-to-face, telephone and written communication) with people from a range of backgrounds (e.g. Veterans and their families, general public, other health care providers)
  • Good evidence of organisational skills with respect to monitoring of data integrity, project management
  • Ability to compile data into report format
  • Computing skills sufficient to use an internet platform, download data, or respond on-line.
  • Experience at using guided self-help interventions
  • Experience of conducting risk assessments and understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Excellent skills in supporting patients using low intensity CBT over the telephone
  • Experience relevant to working with clinical populations
  • Experience of providing case-management supervision to PWPs
  • Experience of providing leadership to other PWPs

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding concerning the major difficulties facing Military personnel or Veterans and their families
  • Knowledge and skills in using patient management systems and extracting data to inform compilation of reports
  • Previous experience of working in the charitable sector
  • Experience of being involved in service development
  • Experience of successful working using low-intensity CBT with Military personnel or Veterans and their families
  • Experience of working collaboratively with physical rehabilitation professionals
  • Experience of providing clinical skills supervision to PWPs 
  • Experience of delivering training within a group setting
