What you will be doing?

We have a number of exciting opportunities for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and High Intensity Therapists to work within our new IAPT services in prisons across Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk. You will have the chance to help shape a new service, taking part in an innovative co-design project involving a range of stakeholders.

As Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or through facilitating therapeutic groups and 

Assess a service user’s suitability for evidence based psychological interventions. You will be delivering a wide range of Cognitive Behavioural therapy based interventions to those individuals presenting with mild to moderate depression and anxiety.

High Intensity Therapists will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or through facilitating therapeutic groups providing a range of high intensity evidence based interventions in line with IAPT guidance. There will also be additional management and leadership duties working in conjunction with the Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

What we are looking for?

  • Experience of undertaking CBT assessments and delivering CBT and low intensity interventions
  • Working with people with mental health difficulties and people in primary care.
  • A thorough understanding of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and the concept of stepped care
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and people in primary care.
  • Experience of undertaking comprehensive risk assessments, including assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Experience of delivering high intensity IAPT interventions.
  • A thorough understanding of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and the concept of stepped care
  • IAPT High Intensity qualification (post graduate diploma)
  • Post graduate level of training in psychology accredited by the BPS
