We are currently looking for two innovative and resilient Psychologists to work within our Camden's Adult Pathway Services.
SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
One of the roles will be based within our Camden Complex Needs Hostel - Southampton Row, working with adults who have experienced homelessness, multiple disadvantages and may also have support needs related to their mental health or substance use. The second role will be based within our Camden Substance Use services, working with clients who may be pre-contemplative about their substance use.
Both roles will require you to provide one to one sessions with clients, group work and support to the highly committed staff teams; as well as broader support (including reflective practice, case formulations and training) to services across the Adult Pathway in support of the development of PIE (Psychologically Informed Environments).
The ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience of working as a qualified Psychologist including post-qualification experience within the speciality, coupled with an understanding of PIE. You will also have experience of working with homeless, socially excluded and/or hard to engage client groups with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
In return, we can provide you with a dynamic, person-centred working environment, where you will be empowered to support clients with complex needs, adopt a personalised approach to care that maximises independence, choice and control, while following our philosophy of PIE.
You will also have access to a personalised Learning and Development programme and be supported in your career and personal growth, with opportunities to extend your skills to ensure you excel. The service also has well established links to the local psychology networks and strong ethos of supervision and reflective practice.
Closing date: 12th July 2020 (at Midnight)
Interview date: 21st and 23rd July 2020
This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.
Our attractive benefits package includes:
- A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
- 25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
- A contributory pension scheme: SHP will contribute the equivalent of 5% of your annual salary
- Staff Health Cash Plan and discounts scheme
- Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in our work
SHP is actively committed to equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity and inclusion, in all of our services and workplaces. We are also Disability Confident Committed, a Stonewall Diversity Champion and IIP accredited. In the London Homelessness Awards 2019 one of our Projects was commended for their work.
