You’ve completed your degree, so now gain valuable experience of using psychologically based principles and interventions to strengthen your CV – and support you on your journey to becoming a qualified Psychologist.
You’ll be joining the team of Support Workers at one of our 11 homes at Highfield Park. Here, we provide high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities who may also have extreme complex needs, autism spectrum disorders and/or physical disabilities.
You can look forward to a full training programme that will include: using applied behavioural analysis; carrying out complex psychological assessments to inform care and treatment; and developing and implementing positive behavioural support to manage challenging behaviour, including data analysis and contributing to internationally recognised research. You will also have the opportunity to engage in monthly supervision sessions with the Psychology Department including our Psychology lead Dr Rachel Worthington who has experience of supporting graduates onto the Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme as well as the Forensic Psychologist in Training diploma route.
You’ll be helping residents make the most of activities and life in their communities too, so this is a great opportunity to put all of that social, developmental, cognitive and neuropsychology lecture material into practice with the support and training of a well-established Psychology team.
HIghfield Park, Llandyrnog is approximately 30 miles from Chester, set within outstanding natural beauty and with excellent access to the A55. We are also able to broker accommodation in the local area if you wish to relocate.
