Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a reporting analyst to join the CIRAS team. We are an established membership organisation providing a confidential health and safety reporting service to the transport and infrastructure sectors with ambitious plans to increase our impact.

The Role

We are looking for a Reporting Analyst to join our team and play a key role processing confidential reports from external sources regarding concerns related to transport and infrastructure organisations. Following strict procedures for assessing whether the report can be taken, you will interview reporters, acting as liaison between reporter and member organisation to achieve a response which addresses the concern raised. Adopting a person-centred approach, you will encourage dialogue and the provision of information whilst preserving the confidentiality of the reporter. Quantitative and qualitative analysis based on a range of report data collected by CIRAS is also key to this role, identifying associations, trends and patterns in the data for periodic reporting, learning and research projects.

The Individual

To be successful in the role, you will have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as psychology or human factors combined with data analysis capability and strong communication skills.

The Company

CIRAS is an independent, confidential safety reporting and analysis service which has been operating since 1996. It offers a safety net that ensures that health and concerns are captured where they otherwise might be lost or remain unaddressed. It provides the early warning to safety concerns that could potentially become near misses or incidents. With CIRAS’ help as an independent facilitator, the satisfactory resolution of these concerns is sought.

CIRAS offers a complimentary, truly independent, confidential reporting line to a range of transport modes and infrastructure organisations. Staff can call knowing with complete confidence that their identity will never be revealed. The aim is to exploit the opportunity to learn from every report received. Through an engagement programme, newsletters and website, the lessons learned, and actions taken are shared with the membership facilitating improved safety culture.

We share our values of being trusted, customer focussed, knowledgeable and innovative with our parent company, RSSB.

In return we offer excellent terms and conditions including:

  • Annual performance related bonus
  • 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • Defined contribution pension scheme
  • Private Health and dental care
  • Subsidised travel
