The Police Federation of England & Wales (PFEW) is the UK’s largest staff association and represents the interests of all police constables, sergeants, inspectors and chief inspectors. It has been at the forefront of test case litigation concerning the employment rights of police officers, including many cases that have become central to modern discrimination law. Its financial support for legal services and assistance to members can run to several million pounds each year.
We require a Research Assistant to support the existing research practitioners and policy officers by undertaking small surveys and literature reviews
This is a one year FTC which is likely to be suitable for a new graduate seeking experience in research into pay, conditions of service, and general human resources issues. There is an opportunity to learn about and contribute to analysis of pay benchmarking information and equal pay audits; to conduct survey work; and to undertake literature reviews of policing topics.
The post is based at our purpose built offices in Surrey, with free parking, and free access to onsite gym.
The post reports to the Head Research and Policy Support and requires a social sciences qualification, and be familiar with SPSS and basic statistical analysis including frequencies.
