Job Description

Senior Clinical Practitioner

£42,651 - £49,176

Permanent, Full-time

Ref: SC02574

The role

We’re looking to appoint two senior clinicians – one to lead on the provision of clinical services to our Access and Intervention and Children with Disabilities teams, and one to lead on clinical provision within Care and Permanence (looked after children). The posts are suitable for registered systemic therapists, clinical psychologists or similar with experience within Children’s Social Care and of supervising others.

As with all our clinical staff, you will be working within a systemic social work framework providing clinical expertise to assist in creating change for children, young people, and their families. You’ll provide clinical assessments and interventions to the most complex children and their families and provide consultation and training to social work care colleagues and other professionals. Analysing complex clinical data, you will monitor the effectiveness of the interventions being offered to each child, and the reports you produce will be used to assist with making the right decisions for children in care proceedings or in the criminal justice system. As a senior, you will also be taking responsibility for the clinical input to your particular service area, supervising and line managing the junior clinical staff, and working with the social work Head of Service to develop the contribution of the clinical staff to that area.

These roles have the scope to transform the lives of every child, adolescent, parent and carer you come into contact with. You will therefore need to have a solid grasp of a range of interventions and a proven record of working systemically to create change for children and families. We are currently particularly keen to meet applicants with skills in working with adults as well as with children, and who have skills in psychometric assessments.

We can offer you quality clinical supervision, resources, training and support to do the job well. Our approach engenders a shared sense of accountability, reflective space and support.

A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level is required.
