Metanoia Institute is recruiting for a Senior Lecturer Post for a Counselling Psychologist/Psychotherapist with a doctoral level qualification and significant teaching, research and management experience. The applicant would need to have extensive knowledge of Integrative Relational and Psychodynamic theory, and of research methodologies with a particular emphasis on qualitative and pluralistic research.
The post involves working alongside the DCPsych Director of Studies (Programme Management) and offering generic research based support to both the DCPsych staff team and candidates on the DCPsych programme.
The applicant would need to have a solid presence, with a particular interest in a reflexive stance within a practitioner doctorate that integrates research and clinical practice.
The person appointed would be required to teach two days per week, with some teaching at weekends. They will be familiar with both summative and formative means of assessment of theory essays, reflective essays, and process reports. The applicant will be involved in monitoring and overseeing student client work, clinical supervision and personal therapy.
The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach, be independent and proactive, and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. They will have strong communication skills and be able to negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the institute.
