As part of our ambition to expand and develop our Psychology programmes, Regent’s University London is seeking to appoint one Senior Lecturer in Psychology. We are looking for a dynamic, creative, well-organised, well-qualified psychologist, with a view to joining our team in preparation for an autumn 2017 start.

You will have a good first degree in Psychology or cognate discipline, and a PhD in Psychology, and have experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychology at HEIs and a consistent track record of good research publications commensurate with experience, and demonstrate evidence of active engagement in research.

You will hold a qualification in Occupational Psychology (successful stage 2 training completion) to join our accredited MSc Occupational and Organisational Psychology programme. You will have experience of research and practice in occupational psychology and evidence of collaboration with external partners and organisations. The post will involve teaching on the MSc and other Psychology programmes and will include placement and dissertation supervision. A fractional appointment will enable you to engage in external consultancy and OP-related work.

For this fractional post, there may be a possibility of a subsequent increase in fraction depending on performance and course demand.

You will be research-active and will be supported in developing your programme of research. Our current research strengths include: forensic psychology; the psychology of smell and taste; the psychology of humour; evolutionary psychology (especially, infidelity/mate-poaching); social cognition (especially, optimism bias); sexuality; individual differences in learning; replication; and cross-cultural influences on health. Recent output includes papers in JEP: General, Clinical Psychological Science, Consciousness and Cognition, Frontiers in Psychology, Evolution and Human Behaviour, and others. Psychology has dedicated and purpose-built lab space and testing cubicles, an extensive test library, and facilities for psychophysiological recording (EEG, ECG, GSR, pulmonary function, etc), eye-tracking, and olfactory testing, as well as resources for online testing (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics).

Psychology is a key member of the School of Psychotherapy and Psychology, based in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. It offers three BPS-accredited programmes (the BSc Psychology, MSc Occupational and Organisational Psychology, and the MSc Psychology Conversion), an MSc in Marketing Psychology, a Foundation undergraduate year in Psychology, and delivers a BA Liberal Studies Psychology Major for the Faculty.
