Senior Occupational Psychologist

£37,300 - £40,248 (£40,600 - £43,889 inc LW) depending on skills and experience.

Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, York, and London.

About us

The Occupational Psychology Services (OPS) team is part of the Government Skills & Curriculum Unit (GSCU) in Civil Service Human Resources (CSHR). It’s our job to deliver best practice occupational psychology insights and solutions to support the future of the Civil Service. This keeps us at the leading edge of assessment and selection techniques and digital developments and ensures an evolving candidate journey.

The role

You’ll play a critical role in supporting our growing business offer. This will see you working alongside other members of the team on large programmes as well as leading on projects which cover the entire consultancy cycle - from scoping, designing and delivering bespoke assessment solutions and training packages to working with customers to ensure best practice.

You’ll also work on behavioural and collaborative-hiring based assessments for senior leadership selection, run development workshops and provide individual coaching and development sessions.

About you

As well as Chartered membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) in the Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP), you’ll need to be a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or willing and eligible to apply for registration. You’ll also bring experience of occupational psychology in recruitment, selection and assessment, and psychometrics and competence in statistical analysis.

We’re looking for a real passion for applying psychological expertise and evidence-based practice.  We’re a forward-looking team and you will be too. You’ll embrace change and be eager to learn from it to develop and strengthen your role. A proactive, creative approach is also essential and you’ll be keen to explore original ideas and create materials in novel and imaginative ways.
