We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with an interest in working with adults with learning disabilities. You will join the Norfolk Community Health and Care (NCHC) Community Learning Disability Team in King’s Lynn. NCH&C has an “outstanding” CQC rating for its care - the first standalone NHS community trust in England to achieve this.
This is a Band 8a post, but we would accept a newly qualified Psychologist on a Band 7 preceptorship with a view to progressing to band 8a over time and appropriate CPD.
Main duties of the job
You will work within a countywide team of qualified Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists to provide psychological diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to adults with learning disabilities.
You will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention at the same time as offering advice and consultation on psychological interventions to non-psychologist colleagues, carers and other stakeholders.
You will act as the lead specialist within the multidisciplinary team on matters relating to psychology, cognitive impairment, learning, challenging behaviour and psychological approaches in mental health in adults with learning disabilities.
You will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the teams.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
