A large and diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and IT facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding and advising across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.

We provide expert support to undergraduate and postgraduate students and the student experience is at the heart of what we do. We also provide support for research, consultancy and knowledge exchange activities. We are a forward-looking service, committed to a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence and keeping our specialist skills up-to-date through ongoing training and development.

Student and Academic Services are seeking to appoint a Technical Officer in the Department of Health Professions (Psychology), currently based in the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care at the Brooks Building, All Saints Campus.

You will provide innovative technical advice, training and instruction to service users and be skilled in the use of a variety of "sector standard" software packages and equipment used to measure physiological and psychological parameters. You have the ability to design stimuli, set up experiments, create data-sets and transform data whilst undertaking duties in support of teaching activities, within the practical areas of the Department. Assistance with research and commercial activities may also be required.
