Football Beyond Borders is recruiting for a Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner and a Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner as a part of its Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner Scheme!

Who we are

Football Beyond Borders is an education charity which uses the power of football to inspire young people from disadvantaged communities to achieve their goals and make their voices heard through our behaviour for learning programme. We use football as an engagement tool to inspire young people to thrive at school
and achieve their goals. We work with over 1,000 young people each week who are passionate about football. We work across a range of schools in both a mainstream setting and in specialist provisions, with a focus on Key Stage 3.

Senior Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner

We are seeking a passionate and child-centred, Therapeutic Practitioner who will provide tailored therapeutic support for Key Stage 3 participants on our programme who are considered to be at risk of school exclusion. Working to deliver weekly 1 to 1 sessions through a creative and relational approach through our virtual and school based programmes, underpinned by our four foundational principles; Attachment Theory, Adolescent Neuroscience, Developmental Trauma and Humanistic Therapy.

The ideal candidate will work with a caseload of up to 20 students across the school year on a weekly basis working alongside qualified teachers, behavioural specialists, youth workers and will be willing to advocate for the most vulnerable young people in our society. Working therapeutically within a multidisciplinary team will mean you will have the opportunity to not only provide therapeutic support but also work together with the project lead to advise and advocate on behalf of the young person's best interests, whilst also creating your own tailored therapeutic kit bag to encourage exploring creative and relational ways of working beyond traditional talk therapy. As part of the role, you will also be provided with clinical supervision by experienced Psychotherapists on our team.

It is a dynamic and varied role that requires cultural competence,  passion, knowledge, experience and flexibility to adapt digitally to improving outcomes for our young people in boroughs across London.
