Chrysalis Associates are an independent multi-disciplinary therapeutic team who are a regional centre of excellence in the assessment and treatment of developmental trauma and attachment difficulties in children. We are currently looking for an experienced Trauma and Attachment therapist from one of a range of professional backgrounds (Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Family Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Art or Drama therapist or Social Worker) to join our creative and dynamic team in Sheffield.
This role involves providing weekly therapy and therapeutic parenting sessions with children and their parents/carers using the models of Theraplay, DDP and EMDR both face to face and via video conferencing. It also involves carrying out detailed assessments of children’s complex therapeutic needs, alongside monitoring the progress they have made in therapy.

This post would be supervised either by a cisgender female clinical psychologist who identifies as mixed race, British Nigerian, by a cisgender female clinical psychologist/family therapist/occupational therapist who identifies as White British or by a cisgender male Art Therapist who identifies as White British.
We are looking for experienced therapists with:
- • A good understanding of Attachment Theory.
- • Training and experience using Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and/or EMDR.
- • Experience of working with children and families in a therapeutic setting using the above models.
- • Experience in using the above models both face-to-face and remotely using video-conferencing.
- • Experience of working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in particular children living in foster or adoptive families or in residential care.
- • Excellent report-writing skills.
- • Good organisation skills, flexibility and autonomy.
- • Current UK driving licence and access to own car.
