An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a new clinical psychologist to our service. We are a large and vibrant department comprising; clinical psychologists, specialist counsellors and behaviour analysts. As part of Your Healthcare’s Neurodevelopmental Service (NdS), we provide a comprehensive range of specialist community services for adults with learning disabilities within two multidisciplinary healthcare teams covering both Kingston and Richmond boroughs and a small residential service for adults with additional complex physical health problems. We also provide assessment and some intervention services for adults with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASCs), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and for people with acute and progressive neurological conditions. There are a range of psychological models represented across the service including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Systemic Approaches, Psychodynamic Approaches, Behavioural and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and we would invite candidates with a strong passion and interest in working with the client groups served by our service to apply. There would be potential opportunities for the post-holders to work across each of these services, depending on suitability and service need. We are actively involved in development opportunities within the wider organisation of Your Healthcare and a respected and valued part of the organisation.
We are a well-established department which values creativity, reflexivity, flexibility and innovation. We are very supportive of, and actively promote, ongoing continuing professional development, development of individual areas of interest and specialism as well as providing opportunities for leadership, service audit and service developments. Please note, we are not a neuropsychology service. We work with people impacted by a wide range of neurodevelopmental conditions, including Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and acute and progressive neurological conditions.
We have two posts within the department
1) Band 8a part-time (0.8 WTE) Clinical Psychologist to work primarily within the psychological services for people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) alongside the broader multi-disciplinary specialist healthcare team. This post includes a range of diagnostic assessment, post-diagnostic work, psychological therapies for people with ASC and additional complex mental health needs and service development.
2) Band 7 full-time (1.0 WTE) Clinical Psychologist to work primarily within the psychological services for people affected by learning disabilities alongside the broader multi-disciplinary specialist healthcare team.
